Spray Tanning & Airbrush Tanning
HOW LONG WILL MY SPRAY TAN LAST?
A spray tan typically lasts between 5 to 7 days, depending on your skin type, how well you prepare beforehand, and how you maintain it after.
HOW LONG WILL MY AIRBRUSH TAN LAST?
Airbrush tans generally last 7-10 days, similar to spray tans, but may last longer with proper care before and after you get one.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPRAY TANNING AND AIRBRUSH TANNING?
Spray tanning is applied using an automatic booth, whereas airbrush tanning is done manually by a technician using a handheld spray gun. Airbrush tanning allows for more customization and precision.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR AN AIRBRUSH OR SPRAY TAN?
DO SPRAY TANS LOOK NATURAL?
Yes! A professional spray tan is designed to provide a natural, sun-kissed glow without streaks or an orange tint. A full-body spray tan takes about 10 to 15 minutes, with additional drying time or if you add prep and moisturizer.
IS CLEAR OR BRONZE SPRAY BETTER?
Both do the same. Clear spray tans develop over time and don’t leave an immediate tint. Bronze spray tans provide instant color but will rinse off slightly after the first shower.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I SPRAY TAN?
For a consistent glow, spray tanning once a week is recommended. If you prefer a lighter tan, every two weeks may be enough.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN GETTING A SPRAY TAN?
Most people will be fully undressed. Loose clothing after is recommended.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN GETTING AN AIRBRUSH?
Women will wear a swimsuit or underwear or go nude (depending on your comfort level). We do supply disposable thong underwear and hairnets. Men are required to wear boxers or briefs, no going nude. You should wear loose, dark-colored
clothing after getting an airbrush done.
CAN YOU SHOWER 2 HOURS BEFORE OR AFTER A SPRAY TAN OR AIRBRUSH TAN?
You can shower before your tan but avoid oils, lotions, and deodorants. For best results, it is recommended to wait 6-8 hours before showering.
WHAT TAKES OFF A SPRAY TAN?
Exfoliation with a loofah or body scrub, soaking in warm water and using lemon juice, baking soda or self-tan remover.
HOW CAN YOU FIX A PATCHY SPRAY TAN?
Exfoliate lightly with a sugar scrub or washcloth, apply lemon juice to uneven areas, and moisturize daily to prevent dryness and patchiness.
WILL SWIMMING RUIN MY SPRAY TAN?
Yes, chlorine and salt water can fade your tan faster. Rinse off after swimming and apply moisturizer to extend your tan.
HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY SPRAY TAN OR AIRBRUSH TAN?
Moisturize daily with a non-oil-based lotion, avoid long hot showers and exfoliation, and pat skin dry instead of rubbing with a towel.

Indoor & Outdoor Tanning
HOW OFTEN CAN I TAN IN A BED?
It’s recommended to wait at least 24 hours between tanning bed sessions. Most salons suggest 3 to 4 sessions per week for the best results.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS FROM TANNING?
Spray tans show results immediately or within a few hours. Tanning beds take 3 to 5 sessions for noticeable color.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TANNING?
It provides a bronze glow year-round, boosts Vitamin D levels (for UV tanning), and enhances confidence and appearance.
MY FACE AND LEGS DON’T TAN WELL—WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Exfoliate these areas before tanning, use a tan extender after tanning, and you can use face or leg-specific tanning lotions.
IS INDOOR TANNING THE SAME AS TANNING OUTDOORS IN THE SUN?
No. Indoor tanning uses controlled UV exposure, while outdoor tanning is affected by the sun’s intensity and environment. Both methods require skin protection.

Health & Safety
CAN I TAN IF I AM PREGNANT?
It’s best to consult your doctor. UV tanning beds are not recommended during pregnancy, but spray tans are generally safe as they don’t penetrate the skin.
HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO TAN?
Laws vary by location. Clients must be at least 17 years old to tan in tanning beds without parental permission. If you are 16 years old, you will need a parent's consent and sign a form.
DO I REALLY NEED TO WEAR GOGGLES WHILE TANNING?
ABSOLUTELY!! It is of the utmost importance! Your skin can tan, your eyes can’t. Federal law requires all tanning salons to supply customers with proper eye protection. This eyewear must meet federal government standards by blocking 99% of UVA and UVB rays. Closing the eyelids, wearing sunglasses, or using cotton balls over your eyes is not adequate protection as the UV rays will easily penetrate these things and continue into the eyes.
HOW DO I PROTECT A FRESH TATTOO?
It is important not to expose a fresh tattoo to sunlight or indoor tanning equipment while the tattoo is still healing since chemicals sensitive to UV exposure have been injected into the skin. Cover the tattooed area completely, or don’t tan at all until the skin has healed. After the skin has healed, the chemicals have lost their sensitivity to UV but continue to take moderate protective measures. Tattoos will continue to lose their brilliance with exposure to UV light, whether it comes from indoors or from outdoors. Most salons carry tattoo protection lotions.
DO I HAVE TO TAKE MY CONTACT LENSES OUT WHEN TANNING?
No, although you may want to. Although eyewear will protect your eyes and lenses from UV damage, the heat emitted from tanning equipment may dry out the lenses and irritate your eyes.
